Google’s new 360 Suite aims to analyse the whole ‘customer journey’

Where would we be without Google Analytics? Doubtless we would have devised something else to take its place, but Google, for all the grumbling and groaning it produces, does, from time to time, try and help those who want to be helped. Okay, they don’t pander to those who come with a begging bowl, but if you are prepared to put a little extra effort (or someone does this for you), Google will now help you even further when it comes to understanding your customers’ experience, and not just when visiting your website.

It is called 360 Suite and in the simplest of terms, it is a set of tools for premium Analytics users to better understand what is happening to customers “in the moment”. It is intended to enable us to understand and recognise the complete ‘customer journey’ from start to finish, not just when visiting your website, but from their very first Google search that would relate to your business. Yes, we have analytics that can tell us all about fall off rates and conversion metrics, about where and when people stop looking at our website and where they go next, but it doesn’t tell us if we are spending our money wisely in other areas.

The more we can learn about our customers, the more we can do to make life better and easier for them, but we never get to talk to them face to face, or if we do it is only when there is a problem. With Google’s 360 Suite we can probably learn more about their habits when using the Internet than they are aware of themselves. It may sound a bit like Big Brother, but if it works for you, then it can’t be all bad.
